Daet, Camarines Norte -- The Department of Health (DOH) in coordination with the Provincial Health Office continues to monitor malaria incidences particularly in Paracale town. According to Dr. Jocelyn M. Iraola, provincial health team leader bed net treatment has been effected in the affected barangays and victims have been treated with the support of the local government unit. Of the 27 barangays of Paracale, six have reported malaria cases notably in barangays Bagumbayan, Gumaos, Casalugan, Malaguit, Polbacion Norte, and Tawig. Based on reports, there were 117 malaria cases since January this year. A case was also reported in neighboring Jose Panganiban town. Iraola said the DOH/PHO has put under control the situation obtaining in the province notably in Paracale. She said that health authorities advise continuing clean-up activities in streams particularly shaded areas.
