Camarines Norte -- House Committee on Local Government have approved the proposal for the division of the province of Camarines Norte into two Congressional districts. Rep. liwayway Vinzons-Chato, author of House Bill 2449 have said that the move is very timely because it could benefit the residents of the said province. Chato stated that since the population of Camarines Norte have increased, it is very difficult to keep track and provide for the needs of the residents since the budget allocated is very limited. Based on the latest records from the National Statistics Office, the province's population is estimated to be at 600,000. Chato reiterated that having 2 Congressional Districts in the province would mean additional budget for the improvement of the province.

 

NAGA CITY – Residents of Barangay bagumbayan Jose Panganiban camaries Norte have expressed their alarm on the suddent and unexplainable death of fishes in their area as well as some of the ducks that they are raising. Residents had disclosed that they have earlier noted some dead fish floating in the river in their area.Authorities have already issued an order for the temporary halt of the mining operations of Johnson Gold Mining Corporation in the said area. Authorities have further revealed belief that the sudden death of the animals were possible caused by the contaminated water from the said mining firm that has been  in operations in the area for 14 years. Authorities have already gathered some water sample from the  mining pipes and have yet to issue the result within the next few days.

 

Naga City – A coveted play station is the reason behind the killing of the family of Analyn Santos y Hernandez. This was admitted by the suspect himself in an exclusive interview with Bombo Radyo Naga this morning. Lyndon Celimen y Catimbang, 19 years of age had readily admitted the crime in an on-air interview wherein he had disclosed that he himself had stabbed the victim Analyn last Saturday night inside the victim's computer shop. Celimen also disclosed that together with the other suspect, Lyndon Lao See, 17 years old who is still at large, they had planned to steal the very unique play station on the victim's computer shop last thursday night. Celimen also said that the killing was not part of the plan but since the victim had manifested resistance, they had at the spur of the moment stabbed the victim together with her 2 children.The suspect(s) now faces multiple murder and frustrated murder charges.

 

Naga City - Robbery is the prime motive behind the killing of the Santos-Hernandez family (tagged as Mother's Day Massacre) in Naga City. Authorities have disclosed that the earlier arrested suspect Lyndon Celimen y Catimbang, 19 yrs old was positively identified by Elijah Kevin, 11 yrs old and the sole survivor in the said massacre. Meanwhile, another suspect identified as Lyndon lao Sy, 17 yrs old is still at large.  The killing occured inside the Computer shop of the Santos Family at Prieto Street Arana Sta Cruz Naga City at 10:50 PM last night where the victims Analyn Santos y Hernandez and her son Lemuel, 7 yrs old have died on the spot due to multiple stab wounds. The sole survivor Elijah Kevin is presently confined at St John Hospital. 

 

Naga City – Authorities have already arrested one of the suspects  for the Mother's Day Massacre in Naga City. In an interview with Bombo Radyo PO3 Tobby Bongon of Naga City PNP have said that the suspect was present at the crime scene when the authorities have arrived at the Santos residence. The suspect who was identified as  Lindon Lao See, 17 yrs old and a resident of Tinago Naga City, reportedly told the authorities that he have seen 2 suspects enter the computer shop of the victims. Lao See's testimony were contrary to the tell-tale sign that was noticed by the authorities. Lao See have stab wounds on his hands that authorities suspects have resulted to the struggle between the suspect and the victims. Meanwhile, based on earlier reports, the incident occurred around 10:50 PM last night where the victims Analyn Santos y Hernandez and her son Lemuel, 7 yrs old have died on the spot due to multiple stab wounds while Elijah Kevin, 11 yrs old is still on critical state at St. John Hospital. The family is yet to notify the father of the victims (Arnel Santos) who is presently working as an OFW in Canada of the sad incident.

 

Aroroy Masbate -- The Philippine National Police have disclosed their belief that non-payment of Revolutionary tax is the main motive for the killing of a businessman and his driver in the said province. Aroroy PNP reported that the victims were purposely killed since the victims valuables were not stolen. The victims were identified as Edgar Manlabas, 36 yrs old, a businessman and a resident od Sitio Tambac Aroroy Masbate and his driver Jose Francisco, resident of Barangay Ambulong Aroroy Masbate. The authorities have also disclosed belief that the NPA rebel group is behind the said killing.

 

Camarines Sur - Tourism secretary Ace Durano, Presidential Assistant for Bicol Chito Monzon have expressed their support to the proposed promotions of "dolphin watching" in Pasacao Camarines Sur. The project was proposed by Camarines Sur First District Cong. Datu Arroyo after awing the President and tourism Secretary on the beautiful Gota Beach. Durano also said that the Pasacao Beach have a very big potential to be the next tourist destination in the province since dolphins were abundantly viewed on the said beach especially during summer. Meanwhile, DOT Regional Director Maria Nini Ong Ravanilla have earlier expressed support to the said project. 

 

Naga City - Athletes and their parents had disclosed their pitiful state during the Palarong Pambansa 2008 held in Puerto Prinsesa Ciuty in the province of Palawan last April 20-26. The athletes parents have reported to the committee on Education meeting headed by Atty. Nelson Legacion that their children have sufferred unfair treatment at the duration of the said sports event. The athletes have disclosed that while they were eating a piece of porkchop cut into half for 2 people to share, their chaperones (DepEd officials) were eating steamed lapulapu, meat including a salad. Furthermore, the children made to sleep on the floor on their firts night in Palawan while their their esteemed chaperones were comfortably sleeping in airconditioned room. Other parents also voiced-out their anger upon learning that their children were made to eat dilis (a kind of dried fish) while the DepEd officials were eating delicious and expensive meals.Meanwhile, Naga City DepEd Division Supt Dr. Evangeline Palencia have failed to attend the said hearing due to urgent matters that she has to attend to, instead the said official have sent Naga Central School 1 Principal Theresita Irma Dycok together with Tabuko Elemetary School Principal Francisco Damasig, the sports coordinator, to the said hearing.

 

NAGA CITY – Local residents were surprised upon discovering the still intact remains of a baby despite the fact that it was already buried under the ground for 6 years. Antonio Panambo y Bidora, resident of Barangay San Roque Baao Camarines Sur made the discovery while he was digging up the remains of  the baby and its mother. According to reports the baby was prematurely born at 5 months which led to the early demise of the baby and its mother last 2002. After 6 years, Bidora had decided to dig-up the remains of mother and child only to find the baby's remains intact with its yellowish skin beside its mother's skeleton. PO3 Marsha Aquiler of Baao Municipal Police Station had disclosed that the Botor family would like to regain custody of the baby's remains but the local health department has yet to come up with its decision regarding the said request of the child's family.

 

CAMARINES NORTE - Government forces and the New People's Army (NPA) clashes anew in the province which resulted to the killing of 3 members of the rebel group. According to reports, the  encounter between the Alpha Company of the 31st IB and the rebel group occurred at the boundafry of Barangay Alayaw and Magsaysay Capalonga Camarines Norte around 5:30 early this morning. Col. Carlos Luces, Brigade Commander of the 902nd Infantry Brigade of the Philippine Army had said in an earlier interview with the local media that they are still trying to identify the 3 member of the said rebel group. Government forces were able to recover 2 M-14 rifle and M-16 rifle.
